The right way: butter on hot toast first, Marmite scraped thin, sharp tasty cheese melted under the grill. Two minutes of work for an unreasonably good breakfast.

The Method
5 steps-
1
Heat the grill (broiler) to high. Toast the bread lightly under it — about 1 minute a side for golden, not browned.
-
2
While the toast is hot, butter generously. The butter should melt into the surface, not sit on top.
-
3
Spread the Marmite thinly over the buttered side. The butter underneath stops it being too bitter.
-
4
Pile on the grated cheese and slide back under the grill for 90 seconds, until the cheese bubbles and goes amber at the edges.
-
5
Eat immediately. Crack of pepper if you're feeling smart.
